Net Energy Metering (NEM) Program Waitlist Application

You may apply for the NEM program waitlist after you have signed a solar photovoltaic (PV) purchase or lease contract. Applications to the waitlist may be moved to the NEM program IF capacity in the program is opened.

Applications to the waitlist will be recorded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will only be evaluated once sufficient capacity is made available to satisfy that application. Your PV system must be installed and approved for interconnection by the City of Palo Alto Building inspector before twelve months from the date the NEM program waitlist application was submitted. NEM program waitlist application instructions are posted online here.

The NEM program waitlist application allows you to save your information and return later to complete and submit when you are ready. Please use the TAB key to navigate the form. The ENTER key will activate the NEXT PAGE button, or the SUBMIT button. When you submit, you will receive a confirmation email that your application to the waitlist has been successfully submitted.

The NEM program waitlist application includes very specific instructions and requirements. Please ensure that your application is complete and accurate before submitting. Applications not complying with the requirements will be denied and their spot in the waitlist will be forfeited.

Being moved from the NEM program waitlist is dependent on the capacity opened up in the NEM program and on the City of Palo Alto Utilities obtaining accurate information on the waitlist application.
Waitlist applications will be recorded on a first-come, first-served basis and applicants shall be notified of the receipt of their application by email.
Future communications about the NEM program and waitlist will be sent by email, and may require a response within 10 business days.
Applications that are not complete and accurate will be denied and their spot in the waitlist will be forfeited.
